Zebra Baby Shower Cake 1-31-10 095.jpg

This is a rich chocolate cake brushed with a Kahula sugar wash, raspberry filling and then topped off with a chocolate hazelnut buttercream. The cake was designed to match the pink zebra shower theme provided by the hostess. The zebra, giraffe, and baby are all hand sculpted from fondant and the palm trees are made from gum paste.

    Hi Michele,

I am so happy that you loved the cake! Tracie was great to work with and she wanted this to be a really special shower for you. Congrats to you and the hubby on your new arrival!

As for freezing the cake, I would recommend that you wrap it in cling wrap 1st (I prefer Glad Press & Seal), then in foil and if possible, place it inside a large tupperware if your going to save it for more than a few months. This is how I was told to save the top of my wedding cake and even after a year, it still tasted good and wasn’t freezer burned.

Congratulations again and thanks for the rave reviews! :)

    Meoi,

I cannot thank you enough for helping me make my best friend’s baby shower as special as she is to me. It was simply perfect! Outside of the Momma-to-be, your cake was the absolute star of the show. You have an amazing artistic ability and an incredible eye for detail (Like the tiny butterfly on the giraffe’s nose!) And the cake itself - simply sinful and to die for! We look forward to more of your cakes in the future - your cards were gone even before the shower started.

Thank you again for helping me make my bestie’s day so special!

    Tracie
