This is a Moose A. Moose & Zee birthday cake and smash cake for a very special one year old girl. The decorations are made out of fondant, gum paste, & modeling chocolate.
My daughter’s 1st birthday party was a smash-hit because of these beautiful cakes! The quality in design and taste was the best I’ve ever seen! Moose & Zee are my daugther’s favorite characters and every time she looked at the cake, she squealed in delight! And what you don’t see is that the smash cake matched the cake from her invitations perfectly! Thank you for making her party and our memories so special!
Can you please give me instructions on how you made this cake- especially the moose and zee made out of fondant!!! di you use a template to make them??? please email me at nunusbakery@yahoo.com. Thank you in advance
Hi Juli, There were no templates, molds, or tools used to make most of this cake except for our hands. The only cutters we used were for the letters on the banner. Everything else was molded, cut, & shaped by hand. I sent you a more detailed email. Thanks for contacting us!
Hi Katie and Paulina - Unfortunately I don’t have any instructions that I can send you but this is what I can tell you. Moose is made out of modeling chocolate. I used the yellow Wilton Candy Melts and it gave me the perfect color for Moose. He is hand sculpted with fondant eyes, mouth, antlers and birthday hat. Zee is strictly made out of fondant. I first made a semi-flattend ball for Zee’s body and then added the grooves at the top and bottom using fondant tools to give him the scalloped look. I made his wings using an Exacto knife and just cut them out free-hand. Hope that helps and let us know how things turn out!
OMG….I am completely blown away with your work! I am in the process of planning my daughter’s 1st birthday, which is next month. We are doing a Moose and Zee theme. Do you sell and ship your cakes? I would love to have you make this exact cake for me. Please let me know! You do amazing work!!
Thanks for the compliments! Unfortunately we do not ship our cakes. We always suggest that if you want that exact cake to print out a picture and bring it to your local bakery and see if they can re create it for you. Sometimes it works out OK, sometimes not. But if you find a good bakery it should not be a problem! If you do do that, let us know,we would love to see pictures! And Happy Early First Birthday to your daughter!
This cake is so amazing and beautiful! My son also loves Moose & Zee, I had a cake made for him with them on it as well-but it didnt look nearly as great as this one does. Man-I am so jealous…Where is your business located? I am in North East Texas.
Hi Amanda - Thanks so much for the sweet words! This is really just a hobby of ours. One of us live in St. Petersburg, FL and the other in Enterprise, AL.
Oh well…Thanks for getting back to me. I checked a bakery by me and they told me the characters alone would cost $100 each. This is an insane price! I might just go a different route. THANKS for your suggestion. I will look into craigslist.
Meoi….You are SOOOOOOOOOO kind to even offer to do this for me!!! Thank you so much. I actually found a person who makes the characters out of clay and makes a cake topper with them. I ended up just ordering it though them. I live in New York and the party is November 15th. I am just curious, can you tell me what you charge for the Moose and Zee cake in the pic? Also, How much for just the characters? THANKS again!!
Hi, I love this cake design and it’s the best I have seen. I live in CA and wanted to know if there is anyway I can order this? The birthday party is December 19.
Your best bet would be to print out a photo of the cake and take it to your local cake shop and have them recreate it for you. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
Thanks,
Meoi
PS - If you do get it recreated, please send us a photo!
Your work is truly amazing! I can hear my baby girl’s squeals when she sees this cake! All the other cakes I’ve seen lack the likeness to the actual character and I was afraid she (being 1 year old next month) wouldn’t recognize her favorite buddies!
On 10/6 you mentioned to Andrea that you sent her more tips / details that might help us recreate it. Would you mind forwarding me the same infto? I’m going to attempt to do this for my daughter’s 1st b-day next month.
Hi Danielle - Thanks for the compliments! The information that we sent Juli is basically the same info as my Oct. 14th post above. I hope that helps some but let me know if there is something specific you have questions on and I can try and answer them for you.
I just wanted to say this cake is spectacular! My 18 month old son just loves Moose and Zee, and I just happened to come across this! His birthday isn’t until July 1st, but I am certainly printing this out and will be starting the search for someone that can try their best to re-create this cake, since you are unable to ship it (we live in North Carolina). I really just wanted to tell you what a fantastic job this is, amongst your other amazing cakes!I hope to find someone that can do this cake. We have a local bakery that does a great job at cakes, but I’ll see what they can do with this as a “template.” Awesome work, you have a fan from North Carolina, that wants to come out to FL to buy a cake!
Oooooh, my gosh…I love this idea!! I have been searching and searching for Moose & Zee ideas, and this is by FAR the cutest cake I’ve come across. Could you please email me the same info. that you sent to the one(s) above?? I would REALLY appreciate it. I’m beginning to get discouraged because I have no ideas for table decorations/party ideas that go along with this theme. Anyone’s input would be a big help!! Thanks so much..
Also, to the one that had these cakes made for her child’s birthday party, could you please tell me how you did the invitations or give other ideas about what else you did for the party (food, treats/favor bags, decorations, etc.)?? Thanks so much!

As for the invites, decorations , etc. I know that Kathryn used the printables that can be found on the Nick Jr. website. The link is http://www.nickjr.com/parties/more-nick-jr/moose-and-zee-birthday-party/ Hope that helps and let us know how things turn out!
