Flowers & butterflies…
It is so special when we get to do a baby shower cake for someone and then a little over a year later, make their first birthday cake! For this cake, we were asked to incorporate flowers and butterflies to match the party theme but the overall design was left up to us. The birthday girl and mommy were wearing matching flower skirts so we decided to incorpate the bright colors from the skirt into the cake to match. Since a pink cake was requested, we tried a new recipe for the strawberry cake which included fresh pureed strawberries in the batter. The cake is covered in fondant and the decorations are all gum paste. Matching cupcakes were also provided for the kids.

There arent words to describe how much we loved this cake!! It was even sweeter in person not to mention DELICIOUS. Our theme was flowers and butterflies and this cake was PERFECT! I asked for the inside to be pink and they made it with strawberry cake and added real strawberries in the mix. Everyone loved it and the matching cupcakes were perfect for the kids.

this was a great cake. simple but adorable. perfect for a little girl. i love all the colors and i like how you made the flowers and butterflies satand up. alex age 13

Hi Michaela - The flowers and butterflies that are coming off of hte cake are made from gumpaste and attached to floral wire inserted into the cake. Hope that helps.
