Aloha…

Claire's_Luau_Cake_3.jpg

For my mom’s 60th birthday we threw a big surprise Hawaiian Luau.  Her cake took a  long time to make but the outcome was worth it.  One cake was white almond cake with raspberry and bavarian filling and the other was a chocolate liqueur cake with cherry filling.  All of the flowers were handmade out of gum paste and the happy birthday sign was molded out of chocolate.  We added pirouette cookies on the sides of one of the cakes to look like bamboo sticks.  Both cakes were finished with crumbled cookies to look like the beach.

Are all the figures: people, tiki, palm tree, etc.; made out of molding chocolate of gum paste.?

Everything is made out of fondant except for the gum paste flowers.
